Here are a few examples of how the Wishkah River Hatchery has provided a venue for hands-on education and community involvement and a source of data and information about salmon biology, fisheries, and ecology.

Every year hundreds students from Wishkah and Aberdeen high schools gain hands-on experience with hatchery operations, salmon biology, and local ecology.
Wishkah staff collaborates and shares resources and data with federal, state, and Tribal hatchery and natural-resource managers throughout the Chehalis River Basin and annually briefs the Grays Harbor Port Commission on Wishkah programs and projects.
Wishkah regularly hosts tours and visits from interested lawmakers, scientists, members of the business and conservation communities, and citizens.
